JAKES & Extreme JAKES

JAKES logo

The National Wild Turkey Federation started the JAKES program as a way to give kids the chance to explore their outdoor world through hundreds of fun events. JAKES stands for Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship. JAKES is for children age 12 and under. The annual membership for JAKES program is $5. Those interested can join through any of the Chapter Presidents, State Board Members, State President, or through the Regional Director.

There are yearly events held throughout the state, which allow kids to learn different activities and to pick up some new skills.


The Xtreme JAKES (ages 13-17) program is the NWTF's newest program. This program provides opportunities and challenges more in line with older JAKES abilities and experiences. JAKES which stands for Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship is dedicated to informing, educating and involving youth in wildlife conservation and the wise stewardship of our natural resources.

The Women in the Outdoors program is about learning new skills, meeting new people and spending time with family and friends. There are a number of Women in the Outdoor events held each year throughout the state.

Turkey Hunters Care

Utah State Chapter Donates Turkeys to the Utah Food Bank

November 6 - Utah State Chapter donated approximately 436 lbs. of turkey for the holiday season to the Utah Food Bank through the Turkey Care Program. A couple of the local news channels were on hand to capture the story. See the recorded stories from MyFoxUtah - Channel 13.
